1992
Big G Steels roots go back to 1992, when Eugene Gentry entered the crane industry. With a background in welding and ironwork, he was mentored by a trusted figure who introduced him to the overhead crane world- setting the foundation for decades of hands-on experience.
EARLY 2000s
In the early 2000s, Eugene met Brenda while they were both working in the crane industry. Their shared expertise and passion for the trade laid the groundwork for what would become both a personal and professional partnership.
2012
In 2012, Eugene and Brenda launched Big G Steel in Greenville, Texas, with a bold vision to do things differently. They incorporated the company in 2013 and soon after hired their first employee—marking the official start of their journey.
2015
Their son, Tyler, joined the company in 2015, bringing a background in accounting and a sharp focus on project management. In 2022, Tyler’s wife came on board as well, strengthening the family-led leadership at the heart of the business.
2018
Big G Steel establishes a dedicated facility in Houston to better serve clients across Southeast Texas.
2020
As demand grew, so did Big G Steel. In 2020, the company moved into a new 10,000-square-foot facility in Greenville.
2024
Operations launch in Colorado, marking Big G Steel’s first out-of-state expansion and a major step in serving the Western U.S.
TODAY
Now with 30+ full-time employees and projects across multiple industries, Big G Steel continues to grow while staying grounded in its original values—quality work, honest relationships, and a commitment to safety. What began as a family operation has become a respected crane company in Texas, serving clients nationwide while remaining rooted in Greenville.
